Climate: Temperate but cooled by gentle sea breezes. There are two main seasons humid (hot and wet) from November to March. The cool and dry season is from April to October.

Top Tip

Humpback whale watching is possible between July and October in the waters of Rurutu. Wonder around Papeetes (the capital) public market “Le Marche”. The market really comes to life on Sunday but can be visited any day of the week.
