Just 3 km before the world renown dive destination Tulamben with it's famed "Liberty" ship wreck on Bali’s Northeast coast, wedged between the sparkling water of beautiful, un-spoilt Muntig Bay and the holy mountain, Gunung Agung, lies a cluster of luxurious Villas and Maisonettes. This little secret is well kept. It is enchanting, tranquil and private.

The resort has a freshwater swimming pool and a private beach, a black sand beach that is. It is only minutes away from Tulamben and a few hours from Menjangan National Marine Park. A picturesque peaceful heaven, with thatched roofs, teak wood furnishings, marble and natural stones from across the Indonesian archipelago, it conveys the serenity of a traditional village, yet it features all modern amenities. The resort provides a tranquil vista in a beautiful setting for quiet relaxation.

You can take a short and scenic ride along the coast and you can head up to Lovina for the day in hopes of catching sight of dolphins and an amazing sunrise. Travel back and see rice paddies along the way and enjoy lunch by the poolside at the resort. The restaurant serves up western favorites as well as Indonesian dished made with the freshest spices. Activities at the resort include: diving, kayaking, sunbathing, and walking.

Ocean View Villas

The villas have only double beds, armoir, sofa, table and chair, reading lights, veranda facing sea, Their own private garden with kitchenette (bar and small refrigerator), plunge - tub, Bale Bengong (Balinese style day bed) facing the sea. The bathrooms are semi-outdoor, and there is direct access to garden or bedroom.

Garden Maisonettes

The villas have double or twin beds, armoir, table and chair, reading lights, veranda with sofa facing the garden, a partial sea and volcano view. The bathrooms have an outdoor, shower. All rooms are air conditioned, non- smoking and finished in natural stone, marble and teakwood. Other amenities in each villa include: room safe, complimentary full American breakfast, bathrobe & slippers

The dive center is a PADI dive center. Exploring the waters can be done by shore entry or by the shops purpose built fast boat. A full range of PADI continuing education courses are available. Special to the resort is the on-site Digital Underwater Photography Courses that are now available. These courses are conducted by Jeff Mullins, an Australian photo journalist with 30 years of underwater photography experience. Jeff was awarded the PADI Hallmark of Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution to Photo Journalism in 1995. Courses are run on "one on one" basis utilizing your own camera and housing. This ensures you learn the capabilities of your own equipment. Jeff can take you from a raw beginner to intermediate levels of photography in one day.

Diving in Tulamben, Bali’s most well known wreck is on every divers list. The wreck is easily accessible right from the beach and lies from 3 meters to 29 meters in depth. The wreck having been sunk since 1963, has allowed the abundance of life the time to grow on it over the years. Today it is completely covered in hard and soft corals and it is home to schooling fusiliers and surgeon fish. Large anemones and anemone fish are not shy and very used to posing for photographs. There are some unique nudibranchs which lurk the shallow waters and black sands on the way out to the wreck. The wreck is nice and with the size it is hard to cover all of it in just one dive.

There are many more dive sites around, with a chance for some fantastic night diving. Just a short ride and in the north of Bali is Puri Jati. Flats of black sands are home to mimic octopus, odd nudibranchs and sea slugs. You may even spot sea horses and robust ghost pipe fish. If you start the day early you should be able to do a couple of dives there and be back in time for dinner at the resort.
