Welcome to the MSY Damai
We are proud to introduce a new concept in the diving industry: a boutique liveaboard. "Damai" is an Indonesian word meaning "peaceful" and perfectly reflects the owners vision, providing tranquility above the water while avoiding crowds down below. Dive-Damai is dedicated to small groups and offers the chance to enjoy diving remote areas in Indonesia, while experiencing unprecedented service and an unlimited amount of dives and bottom time. The reefs and the boat are yours. The crew will be entirely at your disposal and, with a ratio of 3 divers per guide, exceptional service both above and below the water including a gourmet menu, the crew are set to ensure the best diving experience ever.
The vessel is purpose-designed and for cruising and diving Indonesian waters, with passenger well-being always the crews top priority. Equipped with the latest navigation, communication and safety equipment, the vessel sets a new standard for safety as well as comfort, service and passenger amenities. Of course even the best ship is only as good as her crew, and this is another area where Dive Damai shines. Every trip is managed by a seasoned western cruise director, complimented by the experienced and ever-helpful Indonesian crew, all of whom are dedicated to making your diving holiday the trip of a lifetime.
Some of the reasons Damai is the leader when it comes to liveaboards: The Damai is 33 meters in length and 8 meters wide and yet has only eight guests. The four cabins are well over 30 square meters each and come with either a queen or king sized bed, seperated en suite toilet and shower / bath tub. Internet access. Three relaxing areas: The lounge, sun and shade decks.
You can chose from the all day open menu and eat at a time that suits you. There is a spa with a masseuse and you get unlimited free spa treatments.
The vessel is able to accommodate 8 guests comfortably. Each of the four cabins are well over 30 sq. meters. Each cabin is furnished with either queen or king sized beds, separated en suite toilets and showers/bath tubs.
The use of the term "Boutique" reflects a philosophy based on quality of the vessel as well as the professionalism of the service provided. The vessel boasts 3 dedicated dive tenders, and dive guides at a ratio of 1:3. The gear on board is top of the line and brand new. Nitrox is available for all nitrox certified divers at no extra cost. Unlimited diving is offered daily, according to schedule. There is ample space for working with your camera. The vessel has individual separated work space for each photographer, the stations are integrated with 110v and 220v charging stations. Individual rinse tanks at the diving station are provided for each guest.
There are many different dive adventures to choose from. The vessel travels all over Indonesia, including diving around Bali, Komodo, Triton Bay, Raja Ampat, and the Banda Sea.
Banda Sea
Located between the much publicized Raja Ampat islands to the north and the venerable Komodo islands to the south, the Banda Sea is an exciting outpost that offers some of the most unique diving adventures to be found in the Indo-Pacific regions. Distant atolls rise from the depths featuring superb wall diving and boundless marine life. The historically significant island of Bandaneira, once the center of the Dutch/Portuguese Spice Trade dating back to the early 1600s, is now a virtually inaccessible outpost offering amazing macro subjects and encounters with the rare mandarin fish and their lively mating rituals. Just to the south, Lucipara offers endless visibility and dropoffs teeming with tropicals and pelagics. But the jewel in the crown of the Banda Sea lies further south at Gunung Api: pristine reefs, caves and walls surrounded by hundreds of these marine reptiles for an adrenaline charge unequaled. The Banda Sea, an ocean oasis of indescribable beauty and biodiversity.
Komodo
The diversity of marine life in Komodo is amazing. The colors are stunning. The mix of large and small animals, reef creatures and pelagics, invertebrates and vertebrates, shallow reefs, drop-offs and drift dives produces exceptional diving.
Catch a glimpse of the dolphins at Crystal Rock. Look under crevices for nurse sharks sleeping. Experience the glow of the corals as they stand out against the black sands, or dive in shallow white sand bays at night searching for the creatures of the night. Komodo is not to be missed. Don't forget to see the groups of mantas as they sweep over Manta Point on a regular basis to be cleaned. Be sure to bring a 5mm wet suit as water temperatures can drop to a mean 21C.
